TAFE Permanency Campaign Course

12 September 2006

The Federation will be conducting a Trade Union Training Course on 29 September 2006 called TAFE Permanency Campaign at the Teachers Federation House in Surry Hills

This course is aimed at developing the campaign to fight for TAFE Temporary Teachers, and other temporary educational employees such as Education Officers to have the right to seek permanency at an appropriate time. Other temporary public sector employees such as teachers in schools and TAFE administrative and support staff already have the right to seek permanency.

This campaign will be a focus in the period leading up to the state election in March 2007, and will be raised as an issue with the Labor State Government and other political parties. The Federation has written to Minister Carmel Tebbutt on this matter.

Members interested in participating in this campaign course, or being involved in the campaign should contact Linda Simon TAFE Teachers Association Secretary on 92172310.
