League Table Radio Ads

19 April 2010

The radio spots, to be aired across the state, reiterate the AEU and Federation's main points of concern. In one, a father is heard despairing over his daughter's loss of confidence after being shamed by her school's low score in a league table. In another, a principal tells of an email she received from a parent apologising for her son "dragging the school ranking down". A teacher back from the UK reports his experience of league tables "sucking" the life out of education and betraying "the hope and motivation of children from low-ranking schools". In the final ad, a parent describes the dumbing down of curricula to ensure better test results.
