Podcast on Student Reports

12 July 2006

Maree O'Halloran, President of the Federation reports on student reports and the misinformation that has been provided to teachers by the NSW Department of Education and Training.

Federation maintains its professional advice to schools not to implement the DET memorandum of 9 February 2006. It is particularly important that schools not be pressured into implementing the new reporting format in Semesters 1 and 2.

Federal government funding is not contingent on the use of 'A to E' reporting. That the mandating of 'A to E's' is a state government requirement. Even the Federal government allows school communities a choice of terminology.
