Presidential election results

The Presidential positions for 2008-2009 have been determined following an election process.

Maree O'Halloran has been re-elected unopposed as President.

Current Senior Vice President Bob Lipscombe was elected unopposed to the Deputy President position.

Country Organiser Gary Zadkovich has been elected Senior Vice President for 2008-2009.

He defeated Research Officer Sally Edsall by 4440 votes to 2466 in the election conducted by the NSW Electoral Commission. There were 94 informal votes.

Mr Zadkovich began his teaching in country Queensland before moving to NSW in 1986 to teach at Westfields High School and then Leumeah High School. In April 1991 he was elected as a City Organiser where he served Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool Teachers Associations and then from 1998 Liverpool and Camden-Campbelltown Teachers Associations. In 2004 he was the Administration Officer (Media and Communications) and in 2005 he returned to teaching at Keira High School. Since May 2005 he has served as a Country Organiser based at Wollongong.

Current Deputy President Angelo Gavrielatos did not contest the position.
