Tree Levy submission date extended
The deadline for Tree Levy submissions has been extended until November 28.
Tree Levy funding is available for schools to plant native trees and large native shrubs worth up to $400.
The program has been running for many years. In 1996 members of Balmain High School's environment committee planted wattles and other natives purchased with Tree Levy funds to help stabilise a steep bank.
The school is now known as Sydney Secondary College - Balmain but the trees (pictured above with current members of the school's environment committee) remain in place, although a lot taller! Address Tree Levy submissions to Federation's Officer attached to the Tree Levy Committee, Diane Hague.
