Still the best medicine
Laughter is being used to raise money for Stewart House.
Year 10 students from Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College (Tumbi Umbi Campus) Hannah Smith and Sarah Van der Kley are looking for amusing anecdotes from classrooms that will be used to raise funds for Stewart House.
Hannah and Sarah plan to edit the stories and make a book out of them. The book will be sold and the proceeds go to Stewart House.
Stewart House is located at Curl Curl on the northern beaches of Sydney. It caters, on a short term basis, for children and families who are going through a difficult patch. Groups of 90 children stay at the facility for a little under a fortnight. They come from all over NSW and the ACT. Stewart House is an expensive place to run. The girls learned that it takes about $2.5 million a year. They also saw that it was an extremely worthwhile charity to support.
If you have a funny story or amusing incident that you would like to share forward it to Sarah and Hannah via email laughter.still.the.best.medicine@hotmail.com, fax (02) 4385 6805, or post to 116/474 Terrigal Drive, Terrigal 2260.
