Federation General Secretary John Irving and Education and Training Director-General Michael Coutts-Trotter sign the Dignity & Respect in the Workplace Charter.

Agreement on dignity and respect

Zero tolerance to bullying at work has been embraced by Federation, the Department of Education and Training, TAFE NSW and the NSW Public Service Association.

Federation General Secretary John Irving, Education and Training Director-General and TAFE NSW Managing Director Michael Coutts-Trotter, and NSW Public Service Association General Secretary John Cahill signed the Dignity & Respect in the Workplace Charter on March 6.

The charter's preamble states: "Everyone in the workplace, irrespective of their position, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. No one should suffer bullying while going about their work. This can put at risk the health, safety and wellbeing of employees. This organisation has therefore adopted a policy of 'zero tolerance' to bullying at work."
