Call for submissions


Review of the NSW Teachers Federation’s Organising and Industrial Structure

A team of researchers from ACIRRT, University of Sydney is currently assisting the Federation review the effectiveness of its organising and industrial structures.

We invite members to voice their views in a written form, no matter how brief.

The key questions guiding the review are:

1. How well do current decision making and organisational arrangements work to promote and facilitate active membership involvement in the union?
2. How, if at all, can structures be configured to increase levels of activism in the union?

The research team is systematically gathering information from all levels of the Federation. The primary sources are face to face interviews with a random selection of paid officials, executive members, councillors, workplace Federation Representatives and members.

If you have not been randomly selected to participate in the study but would like to contribute ideas, the research team would welcome a submission from you. We encourage members, particularly from regional and country areas to consider submitting their opinions and observations.
