Presidential officers re-elected unopposed

At the close of nominations the State Electoral Commission advised for the positions of President, Deputy President and Senior Vice President for 2004-2005, one nomination had been received for each position.

So, in 2004 Maree O'Halloran will commence her second two-year term as President.

Jennifer Leete will continue in the Deputy President's role which she has held since she was elected in 1997.

Angelo Gavrielatos will also continue in his current position, as Senior Vice President, which he has already held for two years.

In a media release Federation General Secretary Barry Johnson said: "This clearly indicates the membership support for the current leadership and is a mandate for this union to pursue its current campaigns in support of public education and a just salary increase for teachers."
