Donations sought for refugee scheme
Donations to enhance the Refugee Student Assistance Scheme are sought from members.
The Refugee Student Assistance Scheme is a joint initiative of the NSW Department of Education and Training and the NSW Teachers Federation aimed at providing financial support for students in NSW public schools and TAFE institutes who are refugees, including asylum seekers and humanitarian visa entrants.
Annual funding for the scheme is $20,000 comprising $10,000 contributed by the NSW Department of Education and Training and $10,000 by the NSW Teachers Federation.
Further donations can be made to this scheme. For example, you may wish to consider a fundraising activity at your school or TAFE college. Donations from individuals are also welcome.
