Web Services ban applies to reconfiguring computers
By Wendy Currie
No Federation member should participate in, or make provision for, any activity associated with the Web Services project.
In March Federation's Executive banned the roll-out of "e-learning accounts", variously known as the ISP project and the Web Services project, announced by the Premier on March 18.
In announcing the roll-out, to begin in term 2 in schools in south western Sydney, the Government failed to honour commitments to Federation and all teachers in NSW to address outstanding workload, privacy, security, training and technical support issues. It is important to note that this ban includes work by Department of Education and Training officers and others (including private providers of technology support) reconfiguring school computers and networks in preparation for Web Services and training and development activities associated with Web Services.
