Jerseys give guernsey to public education
Public education got a guernsey during the Multiple Sclerosis Sydney to the Gong cycle ride on November 7.
The Public Education Supporters Team (PEST), organised by Oak Flats Public School Federation Representative Neil Lendrum, wore bright jerseys to promote public education.
Nine riders (Harold Cosier, Greg Searle, Glynne Krix, Paul Peterson, Neil Lendrum, Brian Evans, Phil Greenaway, Mick Howard and Leanne Hocking) rode the 88 kilometres from Sydney to Wollongong.
A further six, Rhys Evans, John Brothers, Murray Campbell, and Ruth, Brian and Dane Evans rode about 50 kilometres from Heatcoate.
Mr Lendrum said most of the team had never met before.
"Everyone was proud to wear the jersey and we had a great time," he said.
"We didn't all ride together all day as a group but we were combined in our effort to promote public education.
"We will all continue to wear our jerseys with pride and are looking forward to riding together again.
"We hope to have more friends join us in the future!" Mr Lendrum added.
Some of the riders will also participate in the RTA Cycle Sydney on November 28.
