Conference to focus on growth, strength and survival

Federation's Aboriginal Members Conference will be held on Saturday April 2.

The theme of the conference is Growth, Strength, Survival -- "Looking after each other".

The conference will be held at Teachers Federation House, 23-33 Mary Street, Surry Hills.

Registration will start at 8am on level 1 of Teachers Federation House with a light breakfast, with the conference beginning promptly at 8.45am.

Guest speaker will be Canterbury MP Linda Burney.

Workshops will be based around union structure, recruitment, activism and needs of Aboriginal members.

All financial Aboriginal members of Federation are welcome.

Aboriginal members who live in the country need to have their travel and accommodation forms in by Friday March 18 (week 8, term 1).

Aboriginal members who live in the Sydney metropolitan area will be able to ring to register for the conference. Registration closes March 25 (for city members only). Contact Aboriginal Education Coordinator Charline Emzin-Boyd on (02) 9217 2188, (02) 9217 2189 or 1300 654 369.
