Cornerstones registration to close soon

Registration for the Cornerstones Conference will close on August 18.

Cornerstones: Building Policy Foundations for the Next Generation will be held September 22-23 in the Wesley Conference Centre in 220 Pitt Street, Sydney.

The conference is a Public Education Alliance event and has been organised to put crucial issues into the public domain in the lead up to the state and federal elections to be held in 2007.

The conference is open to Federation members, parents and the general public.

Federation is funding delegates and registration material has been sent to Association Secretaries.

The Cornerstones Conference is also an appropriate expenditure of professional development funds for schools, TAFE colleges and other education settings.

Parents and interested members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Speakers include John Ralston Saul, Geoffrey Robertson, Professor Peter Doherty, Heather-jane Robertson, Dr Lyndsay Connors, Professor Tony Vinson, Ross Gittins and Dr John Yu.

A reception will be held at Teachers Federation House on the Friday evening.
