Act against racism

An anti-racism education conference, Stand Up! Speak Out! will be held in Federation's auditorium on Saturday April 28, 2007.
The conference will include student performances, keynote speakers and a number of workshops exploring racism in the media, Aboriginal history, cultural diversity and understanding of difference.
A competition for the artwork, poetry or short story that best depicts students' understanding of racism will also be conducted. Entries are to be no bigger than an A3 page and must be sent to:

Entries close Monday February 12.
Student artwork will not be returned as it will be displayed around the conference venue and a people's choice award chosen on the day. The winner of the competition will have their art work professionally framed as their prize.
The 2007 conference follows the success of a similar conference in 2002, and will again be sponsored by Federation and the Department of Education and Training.
Be sure to attend your local association meetings as school, TAFE and AMES teacher participants will be nominated through their associations to attend this extraordinary event.
