Walk to Canberra to promote TAFE needs

By Linda Simon

Teachers, their friends and relatives are asked to join a walk from Sydney to Canberra to promote TAFE.

While some more energetic teachers are suggesting that they will walk the whole way, Federation members are encouraged to participate as they feel comfortable, so walking as part of a relay may be more your choice.

The "Walk to Canberra -- a Walk for TAFE" will commence on April 30 with the plan to get to Canberra on May 8.

TAFE colleges between Sydney and Canberra will be visited along the way.

For those not able to join in during the week, TAFE supporters are encouraged to walk across the May 5-6 weekend.

The walk is a precursor to the lobbying of federal politicians about TAFE funding.

For more details contact TAFE TA Secretary Linda Simon at Federation.
