Outrage at diminished educational guarantees
Almost 200 teachers from Bidwill, Dunheved, Mount Druitt and Shalvey campuses of Chifley College stopped work on April 3 to demonstrate their outrage at the State Government's and Department of Education and Training's decision to unilaterally undermine teacher transfer rights and therefore diminish the existing educational guarantees for Mount Druitt students.
The stop work coincided with the Director-General's visit to Chifley College, Senior Campus. Senior Campus teachers presented the Director-General with a comprehensive case detailing the merits of an agreed statewide staffing system and the educational success achieved within the current system.
