Federation has been running radio advertisements in support of the Salaries and Public Education campaigns.

Salaries campaign

The following advertisement, for the salaries campaign, played on some metropolitan radio stations May 23 to 27 and some regional stations May 24 to 26:

Invest now, or it will be too late

"In our great public schools, highly qualified teachers are providing the next generation of Australians with a world class education. Only if our country is highly educated can it succeed and be competitive.

"Yet consistently, governments under-fund and under-value these skilled professionals. Unless we want a teacher shortage, governments have got to pay teachers more.

"Invest in Public Education - it is our future."

Public Education campaign

The following advertisement played in the lead-up to Public Education Day. It was heard on some metropolitan radio stations May 16 to 20 and some regional stations May 18 to 20.

Public Education -- The Great Achiever

"Students who consistently top the HSC results and university entries. Students who go on to be the driving force of our economy and industry. Well educated by the most highly skilled and qualified teachers. These are the children of our public schools.

"Confident and comfortable in today's modern multicultural world, they represent and uphold Australia's values and can protect our democratic principles for future generations

"Public Education is the great achiever, creating a stronger nation with opportunities for all.

"We must value our public schools and their teachers -- because, what a great job they do!

"Public education -- it is our future."
