Plan of action

1. Schools and TAFE Colleges are authorised to undertake industrial action to bring attention to and rectify serious school maintenance issues.

2. Federation's State Budget submission will give priority to the issue of maintenance and Federation will continue to maximise pressure on the State Government in the lead up to the 2005 Budget.

3. Federation's Senior Officers will include increased funding for maintenance as one of the items to be discussed with the Public Education Alliance, parents, teachers and principals and included in a list of agreed campaign items about public education.

4. Professor Vinson will be requested to comment on the issue of maintenance in his audit report to be released on May 19, Public Education Day.

5. Lobbying activities are to be directed at both State and Federal Members of Parliament.
