Show Mercy (formerly Rights Campaign for Asylum Seekers) has launched an educational video called Punished not Protected.
Launched January 20, the 20 minute video is a film in four parts which examines current government policy and its effects on asylum seekers and temporary protection visa holders, as seen through the eyes of refugees, concerned citizens and leading Australians -- all of whom are committed to seeking a fairer and more just treatment of asylum seekers.
Show Mercy is a non-profit incorporated association with a charitable fundraising authority, focusing on the rights and treatment of asylum seekers in detention and in the community. As a group Show Mercy engages the arts, media and academics in carefully targeted initiatives to raise public awareness and change current policies on asylum seekers.
Sales and distribution of Published not Protected is through Ronin Films.
