90 per cent of teachers oppose staffing changes
The results of a Federation survey undertaken in May show that about 90 per cent of the respondents (1681 of 1897 responses) oppose the NSW Government's staffing changes.
Federation President Maree O'Halloran said: "The survey results confirm the strong opposition demonstrated by industrial action yesterday."
"They also confirm the Federation's resolve to continue industrial and political action to retain a statewide system of teacher transfers," she added.
The survey was mailed to a randomly-selected group of teachers, including principals.
"The results also indicate very little uncertainty amongst teachers as to their opposition," Ms O'Halloran said.
