Teachers ‘not a protected species’

You are not a protected species, Unions NSW Secretary John Robertson told Grafton and Lower Clarence Teachers Association members who took part in a very successful dinner with other Your Rights at Work members on August 23.

We should heed his timely warning as the election moves closer.

In the North Coast region many teachers have joined with other unions and concerned citizens to fight WorkChoices. The camaraderie has been fantastic working with people outside our union in a common cause.

What if John Howard gets in again by a narrow margin because we didn't mobilise and put our faith in the current polling trends? We can't afford to let that happen.

Now is the time to act. Get involved.
