Minister not welcome

Federation's Annual Conference voted to withdraw confidence in Education Minister Dr Andrew Refshauge, and ban him from all worksites.

Conference said: "As a result of his utter contempt for the profession the Minister is banned from all schools, TAFE colleges and Federation worksites."

Conference also said: "This ban will be extended to all State Labor Members of Parliament who do not distance themselves from the anti-union attitude of the Minister."

This ban arises from Dr Refshauge's announcement on June 30 that he would unilaterally change the employment and service conditions of all teachers in public schools.

Federation Representatives and principals in all workplaces were advised of the ban on the Minister in a fax on July 19.
