Progress made on several issuesCampaigning by Federation and its members have led to some positive outcomes for public education as the state election approaches. The Government has announced the retention and extension of programs that address the needs of schools serving socio-economically disadvantaged students. Long and hard campaigning on an adequate supply of suitably qualified casual, temporary and permanent teachers is getting results. Irrawang Public School has succeeded in its campaign to keep a 14th teacher after being prepared to take industrial action.
