Two marches for workers’ rights

Unions NSW is looking for 4500 unionists to walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge as a group on March 18 as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations for the bridge.

The starting off time of the Your Rights at Work contingent has yet to be confirmed by the RTA and once this is arranged a meeting point will be announced to those who have signed up.

Organisers want participants to wear Your Rights at Work t-shirts.

For further information contact Alison Peters on (02) 9881 5999 or a.peters@unionsnsw.org.au.

The highly visible orange Your Rights at Work t-shirts will feature in the Mardi Gras parade in Sydney on March 3.

The union movement's WorkersOut! float will feature the words "We love our rights at work!" and organisers invite people to walk behind the float wearing the bright orange t-shirts.

Marchers are asked to gather at the Edinburgh Castle Hotel, 294 Pitt Street Sydney at 5.30pm. At 6.30 the group will move to the marshalling area. Rehearsals for badge and flag wavers will commence in the marshalling area at 7pm and the parade starts at 8pm. While everyone is waiting for the parade to begin everyone will learn a few simple steps/moves so that the group stands out.

To order an orange t-shirt ($10) for the Mardi Gras parade contact Jo Justo c/o ASU National Office, Level 8, 321 Pitt St, Sydney or email jjusto@syd.asu.asn.au.
