Wish list sent to politicians
Leanne Pares and Brenda Zivkovic want kitchen facilities improved (see inset for example).

If Mitchell High School received the same federal funding per child as the average private school child, the school would get an extra $3,796,544 per year.
Teachers have devised a list outlining how they would spend the extra annual funding and faxed it to Prime Minister John Howard, Opposition leader Kevin Rudd, shadow education minister Stephen Smith and Greenway MP Louise Markus.
Included on the wish list to enhance the programs and resources are a new library big enough to cater for the school's population, commercial kitchens for hospitality students, wireless computer network throughout the school, interactive whiteboards in each faculty, roof-mounted data projectors, outdoor education classroom, senior study room, modern science laboratories, drama space, gymnasium, more storerooms, more student seating outdoors, more shade, additional textbooks, carpet in every classroom, blinds and decreased teaching load for 1st-year teachers and teachers who take on extra duties in the school.
