Corrective Services salaries case in IRC

04 November 2004 By Gary Zadkovich
Media Officer

Final submissions were heard on Wednesday 3 November 2004 in the arbitration before the Industrial Relations Commission for additional work value increases to the salaries of Senior Correctional Education Officers from the Department of Corrective Services.

Maree O'Halloran, NSW Teachers Federation President said today:

"Currently there are 31 Senior Correctional Education Officers employed across NSW. These positions are the local Heads of campus in the Department's Adult Education & Vocational Training Institute (AEVTI) facilities for inmates in the State's prisons.

The Federation sought to resolve the matter of additional increases for promotional positions in Corrective Services by negotiation prior to the matter being heard.

The Federation will await the outcome of the Industrial Relations Commission's decision in this case."
