Federation's major claims for 2008

21 January 2008
By

Maree O'Halloran

President, NSWTF

Today, the Teachers Federation launches its major claims on the NSW Government for 2008 with the first in a series of vodcasts.

These claims are clear and simple:

  1. Employ more permanent teachers in our public schools and TAFE colleges.
  2. Guarantee secure staffing for children and students in over 2,200 public schools in NSW by signing the statewide Staffing Agreement for another three years.
  3. Increase the salary levels of the whole profession by at least 5% per annum.

There are further details to the salaries claim which will be available in the next vodcast in this series.

The Federation will vigorously pursue these claims during 2008. The claims are about respecting and valuing teachers and the public education system.
