Adult Migrant English Service

Federation condemns the decision of this Federal Labor Government to again tender out, and award,
the public education provision of adult migrant English to a private for profit corporation. The latest
tender result announced by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship saw the end of AMES
teaching centres on July 1, 2011 after a proud 60 year history.

AMES will continue operating for at least 12 months but without teaching centres. TAFE NSW will now
deliver the Adult Migrant English.
