Beginning Teacher Conferences 2012
Beginning teacher conferences are open to all new (beginning) teachers who are employed as full time, temporary or casual teachers by the Department of Education and Communities in the schools sector, and located within a reasonable travelling distance of the conference.
In 2012, the Federation offers:
- Two day (Weekend) conferences in Bundanoon, Lightning Ridge and Corowa
- One day (Saturday) conferences in Broken Hill, Newcastle and the Central Coast
The conference and all materials are provided by the Federation, along with accommodation (if appropriate), meals and travel assistance. Teachers needing to travel to the conference should contact TUT to confirm whether accommodation (for the Friday and/or Saturday night) may be provided.
Two day (weekend) conferences
The two day (weekend) conferences start at 9.00am on Saturday morning and finish at lunchtime on Sunday. A dinner is held on the Saturday night and accommodation provided to all participants from outside the township.
Two conferences will be held in Bundanoon for teachers in the Sydney Metropolitan, Southern Highlands, Illawarra, South Coast and Monaro areas.
The Lightning Ridge conference is open to teachers within a reasonable travelling distance in the West, North West and New England areas of NSW. Please note that a bus is organised for transport from some townships to Lightning Ridge on the Friday night.
The Corowa conference is open to teachers within reasonable travelling distance in the Riverina. Please note that a bus is organised and available for transport from some townships to Corowa on the Friday night.
One day (Saturday) conferences
One day conferences are held on a Saturday starting at 9.00am and finishing at 4.30pm.
The Broken Hill conference is open to teachers within a reasonable travelling distance in the Far West of NSW. Saturday dinner is included for all participants and accommodation is available for those travelling from outside of Broken Hill.
The Newcastle conference is open to all teachers in the Hunter region.
The Central Coast conference is open to teachers in the Central Coast and Northern Sydney areas.

These conferences are registered with the NSW Institute of Teachers for 4hrs 30 minutes and address the following standards:
