Aboriginal education seminars

Aboriginal Education Seminar - The Way Forward

The Federation conducts two hour seminars at various venues around New South Wales. These Seminars are often conducted in conjunction with local teacher associations.

The NSW Teachers Federartion is an endorsed provider of Institute Registered professional development for the maintenance of professional competence.

This is a two hour seminar aimed at assisting teachers to learn about, engage with and participate in a better future for Indigenous members of the education community in NSW. The seminar aims to commence a conversation amongst local communities and across NSW considering firstly questions of the contemporary political and cultural context of Indigenous education and secondly policy and practice matters; ways of doing things differently and better.

Seminars will be arranged in urban, regional and remote areas and will be conducted by NSWTF Officers, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal teachers and local community members. Practical ideas generated from these seminars may lead to local community action plans as well as statewide strategic planning.
