TAFE Teachers Association
TAFETA is a state-wide association of the NSW Teachers Federation. It covers approximately 10,000 members.
The TAFE council and executive are elected by members of the association. TAFETA council meets approximately six times per year.
TAFETA members also elect members of the NSW Teachers Federation council in accordance with the Federation's rules.
The objects of the TAFE Teachers Association shall be to endeavour to:
- Speak with authority on all matters affecting its members
- Further the interests of Technical and Further Education
- Encourage and promote co-operation and co-ordination between the various Technical
and Further Education institutions
- Provide for the holding of conferences for the discussion of questions of educational and industrial interest
- Initiate and control schemes for the advancement of the intellectual and professional
status of its members
- Promote Technical and Further Education in industry and in the community
- Encourage "esprit de corps" among members through social and other gatherings
- Publish matters of interest to members
- Promote the objects of the New South Wales Teachers Federation
