The symposium is part of a campaign to improve the educational outcomes and schooling experiences of students with disability in NSW public schools.
This Symposium is intended for all students with disability and their families/carers, Federation members, advocacy and professional organisations, academics, allied health and community allies seeking improved educational outcomes and schooling experiences of students with disability.
The symposium will outline the current state of education provision for children and youth with disability in the NSW public education system, present disability research intersecting across equity areas, call on government commitments for high quality education and build a coalition in pursuit of equity through collective and coordinated action.
Open to all community and NSW Teachers Federation members. Federation will fund one delegate per Association.
Completing the Equity Matters Disability Symposium will contribute 3 hours and 10 minutes of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.2.2, 6.3.2, 7.1.2, 7.2.2, 7.3.2, 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
