Members are urged to write to their local state MPs and the Teacher Housing Authority seeking a reversal of the decision by the THA to discontinue the provision of furniture in THA units.
The decision to discontinue the provision of furniture has implications for both individual members and the staffing of country schools.
The Federation has called for an immediate reinstatement of the furniture provision and a guarantee that future proposed changes will not be acted upon without extensive consultation with tenants.
Federation has also called on the Authority to conduct an extensive review, focusing on tenant consultation, regarding its service provision and tenants needs. This should be conducted in the context at a government review into incentives to attract and retain staff in rural and isolated schools.
