The campaign to defeat the Howard Government's attack on the rights of workers is the overriding priority of the Teachers Federation.
Federation Representatives are asked to urge all members to support the stopwork Sky Channel meetings on 15 November - generally for up to two hours. The meetings will hear reports from the ACTU about the legislation and about the future of the industrial relations campaign.
In schools minimal supervision should be provided on the day as a gesture of solidarity to other unionists, parents and community members.
In some centres rallies will be organised by Unions NSW. Members are authorised to continue to stop work to attend such rallies if they wish to do so while recognising that some colleagues will be on duty at school providing minimal supervision. Further details about the location of the rallies will be made available as soon as they are determined.
