June Council wrap-up

Maurie Mulheron gives a wrap-up of June Council, where over 300 delegates from around the state heard the latest reports on the campaign against the Government's education cuts. These policies threaten  public education in this state. The Government does not have the confidence of the profession as its current policies do not support the learning needs of public school students.

Council voted on the creation of a 'Charter for Putting Students First'. The charter will highlight the essential guarantees that must be urgently, publicly and specifically delivered to the public education community.

Council also endorsed  a substantial paid advertising campaign including Television , Radio, Print and Online  over the next few months. In addition a Parent and Community focused website was launched as part of the overall campaign  www.localcuts.com.au
