It takes a very special person to be a teacher: launch of new TV and cinema ads

In 2012/13 the Federation made and screened two advertisements for TV and cinema, titled First Day and Last Day. The link to view these is below.

The aim of these ads is to build and support the image of teachers in public education, and to reinforce the collective good work done by our members.

Today, a new TV ad and two new cinema ads are being launched. These are called The Graduate and The Apprentice

The Graduate will run between Sunday 13 and Wednesday 16 April on metropolitan Channel 7 and 7Two. This catches the largest demographic to take best advantage of our available budget.

The cinema versions of both will run throughout the Easter period, for two weeks commencing Thursday 17 April. They will screen on rotation in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and Central Coast cinemas (screens attached).

Accompanying the new ads is a website: Teachers Make A Difference. You can follow more developments on the Teachers Make A Difference Facebook page.

There are also “back stories” for both, called Nico’s Story and Hawa’s Story.

All the advertisements were directed by acclaimed Australian director Ray Lawrence, famous for the feature films Bliss, Jindabyne and Lantana.
