New signs to beef up small schools campaign

Thousands of signs have been sent to all small schools to promote the valuable role they play in their communities and highlight the importance of Gonski funding.

The weatherproof signs reading “Small schools, big futures” are for display on school front fences. Federation has prepared 1130 signs (corflutes), enough for two for each small school.

Five thousand bumper stickers will be despatched to small schools next week.

A media campaign kit that schools and parent communities can use will be developed later this year.

Federation General Secretary John Dixon has asked all small schools to throw their support behind the campaign, saying their participation is essential in promoting the necessity for adequately-funded education in NSW public schools.
