Federation has commenced negotiations to replace the current school Salaries and Conditions Award (2014-2016) with a new award from the start of next year.
Our union has tabled its claims, consistent with the democratic decisions of Council and Annual Conference. The most recent Federation policy on school salaries and conditions is published in the 2016 Annual Conference decisions (pages 3-5). A copy is available here.
Federation’s negotiating position upholds the following commitment in the Annual Conference decision: “The Federation has consistently refused to countenance trading off teaching and learning conditions in salaries negotiations and will continue to do so.”
The Department has tabled its proposals, consistent with the NSW Government’s Public Sector Wages Policy and current education policies and strategies.
Federation is hopeful that agreement can be reached without industrial conflict and disputation.
