Nominations are called for the following offices:
- Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Federal Conference Delegate (1)
(candidates’ and nominators for this office must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander members)
- Federal Conference Delegate representing the General Division (1)
(In accordance with Rule 40 this position is to be filled by a female member. If there are no female candidates the position will be filled by a male candidate. Therefore all eligible members may apply.
Nominations, which must be in writing and comply with the registered rules of the organisation, may be made at any time from Monday 6 November 2017. They must reach me via the lodgement methods stipulated below not later than 12 Noon (AEDT) on Monday 20 November 2017.
Nominations cannot be withdrawn after 12 Noon (AEDT) on Monday 27 November 2017. Such withdrawal must be by notice in writing to the Returning Officer signed by the nominee and submitted by hand, post or facsimile or any other electronic means.
Nomination forms are available from me or the office of the Organisation. Nomination forms are also available on the organisation’s and AEC website.
Candidates may submit a statement to be included with ballot material. Only statements which comply with the Rules and are received by Chris Cox Returning Officer no later than 12 Noon (AEDT) Monday
27 November 2017 will be published. Candidate statements are restricted to a maximum of 400 words and sent as a word doc. Candidates may include a passport size photograph this should be sent as a jpeg doc. To assist candidates, a standard “Candidate Statement Form” is available for use at www.aec.gov.au
