How do you get our Tree Levy? You log on!

Got a bare spot or an eyesore on the school grounds that needs some leafy love? Sign up for Federation’s Tree Levy grant and your school community could be sinking $600 worth of native trees into the school beautification scheme.

Down the years, the Tree Levy has provided plants that have grown into stands providing shade and cool, a native bird habitat, and quiet space for students, even some bush tucker.

As a result of receiving the grant in 2012, Erskineville Public School began the process of developing an Indigenous garden program featuring edible or ornamental native plants.

The Tree Levy helps the environment, improves our public schools and positively promotes the union in the local community.

The annual scheme is funded by Federation to offset the environmental impact of the union’s activities through a levy on the paper it uses.

Schools must have an elected Federation Representative in the year of the grant application, who will be informed by email in term 2 that the Tree Levy applications are open.
