I was born in Charleville in QLD and my Country is Gunggari. My mother was an Elder of our community and a great teacher. I like to think I got my share of her wonderful spirit.
I began teaching in 1988 in the area TAS (Industrial Arts). I have led Aboriginal education initiatives in all the schools I have been attached to and currently I am the Trade School Coordinator at Nambucca Heads High School. I am involved with many advisory groups throughout educational settings specifically on Aboriginal issues in schools. I enjoy teaching mainly because I have lived in difficult circumstances like many of my students and I can help support and advise young people and their families on ways to improve their lives.
