A one day conference open to all new (beginning) teachers in their first two years employed as a permanent, temporary or casual teacher in the schools sector by the NSW Department of Education. Teachers from the Hunter region plus surrounding areas are eligible to apply.

This conference will include an opportunity for participants to network with other new teachers, explore their conditions of work and current issues in education, enhance their programming, planning and classroom management skills as well as explain the requirements and procedures for gaining and maintaining accreditation. Participants will also lean about the support and member services offered by the Federation.

The Federation receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from beginning teachers that have attended previous conferences.

   

Completing Beginning Teachers Conference – Newcastle will contribute 4 hours of QTC Registered PD addressing 1.4.2, 2.2.2, 2.3.2, 2.4.2, 3.2.2, 4.1.2, 6.1.2, 7.2.2, 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

   

A great opportunity to meet other beginning teachers in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

Accommodation, all meals and conference notes are provided.

NOTE: The Newcastle and Central Coast conferences have been combined. The combined conference will be held in Newcastle. Members from the Central Coast who wish to attend a Beginning Teacher Conference are invited to attend Newcastle.
