Re: OCAA Training Course 30 - 31 May 2013

Dear Colleagues

On Thursday 30 - Friday 31 May 2013 there is a Trade Union Training Course tailored specifically for OCAA members who are Federation Representatives, Women's Contacts or Workplace Committee members. This two day course aims to develop fundamental knowledge and skills for teachers elected to these positions and members considering nominating for such roles. This course is registered with the NSW Institute of Teachers for specific hours. Additional sessions designed to support the work of union reps in non school based positions have been included. Trade Union Training leave is available and necessary travel and accommodation in Sydney can be provided by the Federation. A nomination form was mailed to all OCAA Fed Reps last week, along with the notice for the next OCAA meeting and other material. If you are wanting support in your role, please consider applying using that form, or online at http://www.nswtf.org.au/services/forms/2011-applications-tut-courses.html or email me directly at ocaa@nswtf.org.au for further information. With all that is happening in non school based positions, I strongly urge Fed Reps in particular who have not previously undertaken the Federation's Fundamentals course to apply.
