Women's Newsletter 2017

Dear Colleague,

As the new Women’s Coordinator I would like to thank you for your support for the Women’s Program throughout 2017. It has been a busy year and we have had a change of Women’s Coordinator. Congratulations to our former Women’s Coordinator Anna Uren who was elected as an Industrial/Research Officer earlier in the year.

We have recently updated the Women’s Program section of Federation’s website where information about the Women’s Program; Anna Stewart Program; maternity leave, discrimination and women’s issues; industrial wins; resources and more can be found.

We also have a new Women’s and Anna Stewart Program Restricted Committee for 2017-18. Welcome to Kat Hand, Natalie Hudson, Jen Moes, Terri Quinlan, Narelle Hill and Kylie Dawson.

The Women’s Committee assist with the planning of the annual Women’s Conference, Women’s Caucus for Federation’s Annual Conference and the Women’s Caucus sessions prior to every state Council. One of the main goals for the committee in 2018 will be to build on the Women’s Program by continuing to provide opportunities for increased participation, engagement and networking at the caucuses.

I would also like to acknowledge all of our Anna Stewart Program Participants for 2017: Lisa Jacobsen, Alison Fox and Joanne Sheppard and our AEU Rosemary Richards Scholarship holder for 2017 Hannah Archer-Lawton.

Wishing you all the best for the festive season,

Leeanda Smith
Women’s Coordinator
