TAFE Commission of NSW 2024 Enterprise Agreements Update

Vote Yes

Federation Officers attended bargaining meetings to pursue Enterprise Agreement outcomes for members that:

  • deliver fair salary increases and conditions, including backpay;
  • incorporate TAFE policy positions that will enable Fair Work Commission access for disputes, including in relation to Administrative Arrangements and Excess Teaching Hours;
  • preserve teaching qualifications for entry to all classifications under the TAFE Children’s Centres EA;
  • see improvements to working conditions, including in relation to hours of work, workload allocation and review, lactation breaks, annual leave and parental leave for TAFE Managers.

Federation and TAFE NSW have reached in-principle agreement for Enterprise Agreements of one year duration, delivering an increase to salaries and allowances of 4% based on 2023 rates which will be applied from the nominal expiry of each current Enterprise Agreement, with an interim 1% increase backdated to 1 July 2023 having already been provided by TAFE NSW. The 3 agreements each preserve all existing entitlements and in fact provide for improvements to working conditions.

Bargaining will commence in the second half of 2024 for new Enterprise Agreements.
