What would you like to update?

Members of Federation can make a written application, in advance, for an exemption or reduction of fees for the duration of their unpaid leave period by using the form below. Please ensure all relevant documentation is attached.

It is the member’s responsibility to inform the Federation of any changes or amendments to their employment status, including periods of leave. Federation doesn’t receive information regarding changes to employment from the Department of Education, TAFE Commission or any other employer.

Please note that in accordance with the Federation’s refund policy (available at www.nswtf.org.au/refund); refunds of up to a maximum of 3 months will be considered from the date which Federation is notified via completion of the form below.

Advise the Federation about your leave
Leave without Pay
Members receive an exemption from fees for periods of leave without pay. Members working on a casual or temporary basis whilst on leave without pay are required to pay the appropriate membership fees to be covered.
Leave approval dates

Maternity/Paternity Leave
Exemption of fees can be granted for periods of unpaid maternity/Government parental leave. A 50% reduction of fees can be granted for periods of half pay maternity leave. Exemption of fees cannot be granted for full paid maternity leave. If you have taken a combination of maternity leave, please tick and complete all appropriate boxes below.

Part time Leave Without Pay/Part Time Maternity Leave
Members are eligible for a reduction in fees. The fees payable will be calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the number of days worked per week.

Extended Leave/Long Service Leave
For periods of extended leave half pay, a 50% reduction of fees can be granted. There is no exemption of fees for periods of full paid extended leave. If you have taken a combination of leave, please tick and complete all appropriate boxes below.

Overpayment Options
In accordance with the refund policy, an overpayment of fees within 3 months can be credited toward future payments or refunded to a bank account, which can nominated below. Please ensure you have attached proof of leave above.
