FAQ: recent pay run and transaction references

We’ve received some questions following our most recent pay run. Below are answers to the most common queries to help clarify what you may have noticed on your bank statement.

This pay run was the first time the new system was used. Transaction references may look slightly different while the system beds down. We’re aware of this and are working to refine how references appear.

Yes. Federation’s new system uses Fat Zebra as its payment gateway. Fat Zebra is a well‑established provider used by many organisations and applies industry‑standard security measures to protect payment information.

No. Payments have been processed correctly. The difference is how the transaction is labelled, not where the money is coming from or going to.

We will work with our integration partners to improve and standardise the transaction descriptions that appear on members’ bank statements where we can do so.

No action is required. If a member has a specific concern about their payment, they can contact the Federation directly for support via email.
