The library stocks more than 14,000 resources relevant to teachers’ professional learning, teaching resources and the union’s campaigns and industrial work. The library collection includes the Professor Stephen Dinham’s donated collection of educational leadership resources.

Members may borrow our resources by visiting the library in person or reserving online via the catalogue. Telephone and email requests are also accepted. There is a postal service for members who cannot visit in person.
Free internet access is provided to members when they visit the library.
To assist members, the library publishes Library Hot Topics guides on popular subjects, which lead you to the most popular and current resources available on professional learning themes. The library also publishes a Library Bulletin highlighting new titles for loan several times each year.
Federation’s journal Education has been digitised and is available on the National Library of Australia’s website. You can search by topic across all issues or browse all issues.
A substantial part of Federation’s archives are held at the Noel Butlin Archives Centre at the Australian National University in Canberra. Federation archives older than 30 years are accessible to ANU staff, students and members of the public.
Researchers engaged in private research or study, whether Federation members or non-members, requiring access to Federation archives less than 30 years old will be required to submit a written application to the union.
