Applications for Project Officer positions now open

Federation is seeking expressions of interest from members keen to work with us as Project Officers in Semester 1, 2027

Members within the early stages of their careers (typically within their first five years) are eligible to apply for one of multiple schools Project Officer positions.

The Project Officer role focuses on membership recruitment in schools and universities and engagement of early career and pre-service teachers in their union.

Enjoyable and rewarding experience

One of Federation’s previous Project Officers and primary school teacher, Sinead O’Hara said the role has greatly increased her communication skills and she feels more confident approaching new people and engaging them in conversations about the union. She has also enjoyed learning more about the union and taking part in Federation’s decision-making bodies such as Association meetings and State Council.

“I’ve enjoyed witnessing the capacity building that Federation provides through Beginning Teacher Conferences and other events such as the Anti-Racism Conference, CPL Courses and Trade Union Training.” Sinead said.

Project Officer Jesseline Ingold said she’s been inspired by meeting members and visiting schools across the state.

“I have learned so many skills and knowledge about recruitment and what resonates with people about being and becoming members and activists,” Jesseline said.
